Expect More ...

It's been a busy week! Eastmont Schools budget hearings, finishing another awesome school year, and offering well wishes to my amazing students as we break for the summer.

And last night, I took the opportunity, along with a handful of candidates from Wenatchee, Bridgeport, Leavenworth and Moses Lake, to attend the Washington State School Directors' Association Candidate Workshop. What a great resource and wealth of information! For nearly 100 years, the WSSDA has worked to “build leaders by empowering its members with tools, knowledge and skills to govern with excellence and advocate for public education." The association has since grown to nearly 1500 locally elected school board directors setting policy and budgetary priorities for 295 districts and nearly 1.1 million students across the state of Washington.

Since announcing my candidacy last month, I’ve invested countless hours and energy discussing, reading, and researching to better understand my role and responsibility as a Director for the Eastmont School Board. The WSSDA has done an amazing job articulating a set of standards for school board governance, encouraging high levels of professionalism, personal conduct and performance with student achievement as the primary responsibility.

Through strong leadership and accountability, communication and collaboration, proper planning and effective policy, I look forward to promoting student achievement and helping ensure success for the students of Eastmont School District.

Let’s work together. Let us build a strong community, exchange ideas and discuss the diverse needs, interests and perspectives of our community. Let us work together to ensure a safe and secure learning environment with the proper resources available for our kids. I am excited for the opportunity to work on behalf of all the Eastmont School District families to ensure each and every student has the opportunity to reach their highest potential. I am grateful for your support and hope to earn your vote this November!
